Get ready for your trip. Below you will find a few tips that might be useful before you come to China.
We recommend you purchase a major medical insurance, which also covers injuries and illnesses that may occur during your stay in China. Our academy assumes no responsibility for injuries occurring before, during or after training, while under the academy’s supervision.
There are no required vaccinations for entering China except for the Yellow Fever vaccination if you are arriving from an infected area. It is best to consult a travel clinic before your departure if you wish to have any other vaccinations such as the Hepatitis A vaccine.
In China, local clinics and hospitals are well-equipped and have many western, Chinese and combination medicines. In a medical bag, it is convenient to have things like sunscreen, insect repellant, band aids, some cream or ointment for cuts and bruises, something for an upset stomach or nausea, any prescription or allergy medicine and multi-vitamins if needed.
Visitors are not recommended to drink un-boiled tap water in China. For training, students either fill up their bottle with pre-boiled water from the school’s hot water machine freely or buy boxes of bottled water, as they are quite inexpensive.
Not sure what to bring when you come to China? We have put together a small list to help you.
Unlike most of the other kung fu schools in China, we do not charge any application fee! You just pay your monthly fee once you arrive at our school, so there is no risk. If you feel unsure about taking money with you, it is also possible to drive to the Bank (or ATM), which is situated just nearby the school or pay by card directly at the school.
You will undoubtedly get a little culture shock when you first get to China, so learning a little bit about the country before you come is probably a good idea. It is important to have an open mind to accept and understand others and to speak and communicate with others. Our community is open and friendly, as we all see ourselves as one big family. That being said, we will do our best to make sure your time in China is happy, stress free and awesome!
The best way to prepare yourself is to relax your mind and body. Some additional physical exercises such as running (2km a day or so), stretching, cycling, swimming, push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups can also help to prepare you; a proper diet is also important.
In fact, any type of sports that helps to build muscles and stamina is helpful. But the important thing is: get your mind ready and relax.
If you are under 18 years old, your parents will need to confirm and provide permission that you can come here. Students who are younger than 13 years shall be accompanied by an adult. Any student who cannot travel alone will need an escort. There is no maximal age.
