Important information and preparation tips for your trip to China

Get ready for your journey! Below you’ll find a few tips that could be helpful for your trip to China. Read them carefully to be well-prepared and make the most of your time with us.

Get ready for your adventure!

Healthcare and Insurance

We prioritize your safety and health, so we strongly recommend obtaining comprehensive health insurance that covers you during your stay in China. Please note that our school does not assume liability for any injuries that occur before, during, or after training.

Vaccinations

There are no vaccination requirements at our school, including for COVID-19. Everyone is welcome, regardless of vaccination status! Specific vaccinations are not required for entry into China; however, there are exceptions for areas affected by yellow fever. We recommend visiting a travel clinic in your area prior to departure to obtain information on vaccinations, such as Hepatitis A.

Medical Care

Medical facilities in China are well-equipped and offer Western, Chinese, and combined medical treatments. However, it is advisable to carry a travel pharmacy that includes items such as sunscreen, insect repellent, bandages, skin ointments, anti-nausea medication, antihistamines, and vitamin supplements.

Water Quality

It is generally recommended not to drink tap water that is not boiled. For training, we provide either pre-boiled water from our dispenser or you can purchase affordable bottled drinking water from the school shop.

What to Bring

Are you unsure about what to bring to China? Don’t worry, we have created a small list to help you. Click here (link to the list) for more information.

Registration Fee

Unlike many other Chinese Kung Fu schools, we do not charge a registration fee! You only pay the monthly fee once you arrive. This means there is no financial risk for you. If you’re unsure whether to bring cash, you can withdraw money at a bank or ATM near the school or pay directly with a card at the school.

Mental Preparation

It’s normal to experience a little culture shock when you first arrive in China. Therefore, it’s a good idea to learn about the country in advance. An open-minded attitude is important to understand and accept other people’s views and communicate with them. Our community is welcoming and friendly. We consider ourselves a big family here and will do our best to make your time in China happy, stress-free, and wonderful!

Personal Preparation

The best preparation is to relax your body and mind. Additional physical activities such as running (e.g., 2 km per day), stretching, cycling, swimming, as well as exercises like push-ups, pull-ups, or sit-ups can help you prepare. A healthy diet is also essential.

In general, any sport that strengthens your muscles and improves your endurance is helpful. However, the most important thing is to prepare your mind and relax.

Age Restrictions

All students are welcome at our school. If you are under 18 years old, we require confirmation from your parents or legal guardians that you are allowed to visit us. Students under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Any student who cannot travel alone will need appropriate accompaniment. There are no upper age limits.

We look forward to welcoming you soon in China and helping you develop and perfect your skills in various styles of Chinese martial arts!
